When VH1 President Michael Hirschorn read the rave review of Torgoff’s book Can’t Find My Way Home in Rolling Stone, the network approached him about turning it into a multi-part television series. Torgoff scripted the book into four hour long episodes and the series, a coproduction of Sundance, became one of the most successful doc series in the network’s history: With repeated viewings it was seen by a combined audience of well over 100 million people. As Torgoff also played the role of the principal on-camera commentator, the series earned him recognition as a television personality and expert on this and related subjects.

Classic television, packed with magnificent archival footage and consistently profound insights about the role that illicit drug use has had in shaping our nation.
